How Our CSA Works

What is a CSA?
Community Supported Agriculture is a locally-based model of agriculture that connects growers directly with consumers.  CSA members (consumers) pay at the beginning of the growing season for a share of the anticipated weekly harvest.  This model has benefits for both the grower and consumer.

Wondering what to expect?

Wondering what is in the "other" category...
broccoli, bok choi and tomatillos to name a few.

How it works...
Our CSA provides you with 18 weeks of local, fresh vegetables produced in our gardens (located in Jerome and Hazelton).  Each week you will take home an already prepared box from your chosen pick up location.  The season begins in June and continues thru September.

To start:
Review the share options on the CSA Shares tab.  Once you have decided which option is best for your family check out the options for pick-up day and location.  Choose wisely because this will remain the same all season.  Either check out using PayPal or write a check and mail it to us (payment options and mailing address are also located on the Produce tab).  Purchase by May 1 (remember spots are limited!).

To Finish:
If you mail your payment please send us an email or call so that we can be watching for it.  Print off, read, and sign the 2021 Membership Agreement.  This can be mailed or emailed to complete your registration.  Follow us on Facebook and check the website for updated information and to follow our blog.

To Expect:
We will reach out to you shortly upon registration to confirm all details of your membership are correct.  We will email you a few weeks in advance of the first pick-up with finalized detailed information.  Expect up to 8 items per week in the first month or so and upwards of 12 items in the last few weeks.  You will receive freshly harvested, quality produce along with weekly recipes and gardening tips and updates.  Also, expect us to be flexible.  We understand that life happens and things come up.  Let us know as soon as possible and we will do our best to work with you on alternate pick-up days, location etc.

* As small business owners selling local, we try our best to support other local small businesses.  So, don't be surprised to find an occasional surprise with your box of vegetables.

How We Garden...
Our production practices aim at creating a sustainable system and building our garden soil health.  We start some of our plants as well as out source to local greenhouses for starts.  We utilize season extension techniques to maximize the variety of vegetables available through the Idaho growing season.  We continue to refine our variety selection and try new vegetables to expand our available offerings.  Let us know your favorites and we will do our best to incorporate them into our garden planning.
2021 Pickup Options
Look carefully if you are a returning member - times and locations have changed!

We adjust our pickup times each year to fit our busy farm and family life.  2021 days and times will be released early in 2021.  We know that you have busy lives too...our pickups are always in the early evening to hopefully fit most people's work (and play) schedules.
